coursework in storytelling and literature
are foundations for Maureen's professional
repertoire. Travels, performances, teaching
programs, memberships in professional
associations and a creative writing portfolio
demonstrate the expanse of her creative
expertise.
Life and career experiences that have
expanded Maureen's professionalism include
seven years working with children with
multiple disabilities, freelance writing for
local publications, seven years as coordinator
of a Cultural Arts Scholarship Program in
the Johnston School District in Iowa, five
and a half years as ducation Manager for
the Civic Center of Greater Des Moines,
seven and a half years as Director of
Special Programs and Projects for the Iowa
Department of Cultural Affairs directing a
state wide historic theater program and her
current position as Director of Educational
Programs for Cultureall, an international
catalog of ambassadors and artists. Maureen
has also taught for Drake University and
Heartland Area Education Agency 11 for over
fifteen years.
Maureen is on the Iowa Arts Council Roster,
The Metro Arts Roster, The CulturEalL
Catalog, and VSA Iowa. Funding can be
obtained for her performances through the
above rosters, Humanities Iowa and Arts
Midwest.
